Rob Ouellette was born and raised in Girouxville, a farming community in the Peace Country of northwestern Alberta. He now resides in Yellowknife, N.W.T., and brings over two decades of experience in telecommunications and broadcast technologies to APTN.
Rob holds a master’s in public administration from the University of Victoria, a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Alberta, a diploma in computer technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and a certificate in business administration from Grande Prairie Regional College.
Presently, Rob is the chief executive officer of the Native Communications Society of the Northwest Territories, a non-profit charity focused on preserving and revitalizing Indigenous cultures and languages by providing programming in a variety of Indigenous languages. To date, the organization broadcasts the greatest representation of Dene language programming in the world on CKLB Radio.
Rob is honoured to be joining APTN to fulfill a mission he’s passionate about and to continue building strong relationships with Indigenous Peoples across Canada and beyond.
